ART is more than a hobby for me. It's a lifelong
passion. Practicing a strong Christian faith, I believe that God, the creator of the universe, has given each of us
creative abilities we should express.
In addition to enrolling in private and public art
programs throughout childhood, I studied painting and drawing at Louisiana Tech University, then finished at Louisiana
State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I have taken several workshops also. Portrait
painting under Frank Covino in the Italian renaissance manner, Plein Air painting with Morgan Samuel Price and Abstract
Painting with Julie Dupre' Buckner to name a few.
A large variety of projects have kept me occupied
over the years. Among them include almost anything from graphic design, painting stage backdrops, interior design,
murals, portraiture, illustration, and teaching high school art. Now that my children are older and needing less
of my time, I have begun to concentrate more on the work I enjoy the most, both realistic and abstract painting.
Oils and acrylics are my favored mediums, yet I love to try a variety of others.
I have now entered a most prolific season of my artistic
journey. "Never stop learning" continues to be my creed. View my site again in the future to see how
I will learn, create and improve.

This painting is an exploration in
the layering of color and texture. One of the first in an abstract series, I entitled it Freedom, for
the sheer joy experienced in painting it. It is 30"x36" acrylic on canvas.
